There are people who spend their lives riding the merry-go-round — climbing onto the shiny little unicorn, going around and around, hoping it will somehow bring meaning and purpose. I don’t judge them. In some ways, I understand it. But when I encountered new life in Christ — radical love, acceptance, and a sense of mission — something changed in me. I wanted to take a rocket launcher to the merry-go-round and blow it apart.
Because life was never meant to be endless circles.
It’s meant to be the adventure of a lifetime.
Let’s go. Let’s risk. Let’s take chances. Let’s stop living timid, safe, predictable lives. How about you? Is your life a merry-go-round, hoping the next prize, the next weekend, or the next distraction will finally make you feel alive? Or is your life an adventure filled with meaning and purpose?
And make no mistake — adventure is not easy. It’s discipline. It’s hard work. It’s studying, growing, and becoming. It’s the enormous responsibility of caring for yourself and others. It’s humility. It’s sacrifice. But there’s a wildness to it that the safe, tame life can never offer.
I don’t want to spend my life trying to arrive at death safely.
Give me the opportunity to try uncomfortable things. To risk. To take chances. Not in rebellion against the Holy Spirit, but in partnership with Him.
After all, the Holy Spirit has been called the Wild Goose. You don’t tame wild geese. The Holy Spirit is like the wind — and you don’t tame the wind either. You become a sail. You become a windmill. You learn to catch the breath of God and let Him carry you where you were meant to go.
So let me ask you:
Is your sail up?
Are you looking for the wind?
Maybe this very moment is the wind. Maybe this is your invitation to raise your sail.
If you’ve truly encountered Jesus, then raising your sail means there will be wind. And if you’ve never encountered Him, maybe it’s time to lift your sail for the very first time and allow God to meet you there.
Trust Him. He wants to inspire you.
Why does that matter?
Because inspired people make Him look beautiful.
He loves partnering with us. He loves breathing life into willing hearts.
So go live the adventure.
But remember:
He’s the wind — not you.
